Description
Sat Sandarbhas (Set of 13 Volumes) is the magnum opus of Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī, the foremost philosopher and theologian of the Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava tradition. Written in the 16th century, these six interconnected treatises (ṣaṭ-sandarbhas) present the systematic theology of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam and firmly establish bhakti—loving devotion to Śrī Kṛṣṇa—as the highest spiritual goal.
The six Sandarbhas are:
-
Tattva Sandarbha – Establishes the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam as the supreme authority for spiritual knowledge.
-
Bhagavat Sandarbha – Describes the nature and attributes of the Absolute Truth, Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
-
Paramātma Sandarbha – Explains the localized feature of the Absolute Truth as Paramātmā.
-
Kṛṣṇa Sandarbha – Establishes Śrī Kṛṣṇa as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, source of all incarnations.
-
Bhakti Sandarbha – Systematically presents the process of bhakti-yoga.
-
Prīti Sandarbha – Concludes with the goal of pure love (prīti) for Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
This 13-volume set contains the original English translations, and elaborate commentary, making Jīva Gosvāmī’s profound philosophical insights accessible to modern readers. Each Sandarbha unfolds progressively, forming a complete spiritual philosophy rooted in the Vedas, Upaniṣads, Purāṇas, and especially the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam.
The Sat Sandarbhas are not merely scholarly works—they are a spiritual guide, a treasure for practitioners and seekers alike, leading the heart and mind toward the ultimate conclusion: unalloyed loving service to Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa.
