About Author

K Ilango MPharm, PhD, FIC is currently Professor and Principal, Tagore College of Pharmacy, Chennai. He holds degrees from the Department of Pharmacy, Annamalai University, Chidambaram and Birla Institute of Science and Technology (BITS) in Pilani, Rajasthan. He earned his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai. With 32 years of teaching and a decade of research experience, he specializes in Medicinal Chemistry and Phytochemistry. He is also having two years of Pharmaceutical Industry experience as a production chemists. His contributions to the field are substantial, with more than 250 scientific publications in both national and international journals, alongside several Indian patents. Additionally, he has authored several books in pharmaceutical chemistry titled Textbook of Medicinal Chemistry, Volumes I and II and Medicinal Chemistry, Volumes I, II and III further enriching the academic landscape. He is also actively involved in various statutory bodies, reflecting his commitment to the advancement of pharmaceutical education and research. P Valentina MPharm, PhD is currently Professor and Principal, PERI College of Pharmacy, Chennai. Her educational background includes a graduation from Periyar College of Pharmaceuticalc Sciences for Girls, Trichy and College of Pharmacy at Madras Medical College, Chennai. She completed her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Chennai. With an impressive 30 years of teaching and two years of pharmaceutical industry experience, Dr Valentina has made significant contributions to her field. She has authored over 75 scientific publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals, showcasing her commitment to research and education. Additionally, she is the author of the Textbook of Medicinal Chemistry, Volumes I and II and Medicinal Chemistry, Volumes I, II and III further solidifying her role as a key figure in pharmaceutical education.
