About Author

One of the most celebrated writers of our time, Vikram Seth is the author
of three novels—including A Suitable Boy and The Golden Gate (a novel in
verse)—and two works of non-fiction. He has also written seven books of
poetry, which include All You Who Sleep Tonight and The Humble Administrator’s
Garden. He has translated selected works of Wang Wei, Li Bai and Du Fu in
Three Chinese Poets, and, most recently, Tulsidas’s Hanuman Chalisa.

Mohini Gupta is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Danish School of Education,
Aarhus University, Denmark. She holds a D.Phil. (PhD) from the Faculty of
Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, University of Oxford. She has co-edited
and written for academic volumes published by Routledge (UK), Orient
BlackSwan (India) and Honno Press (Wales); and translated children’s books
into Hindi for Tulika Books (India).
