A Poetry book that is centred around the theme of mental health, to create awareness and to give a word form to the struggle of this unseen enemy. Every poem in this collection is about a certain person or an event or experience which is very personal to the poet. The poems in this collection on one hand identify and understand the pain behind dealing with mental health issues, but on the other hand, their intention is to propel and motivate people to seek help and find their way out of these dark gardens, take a step towards daylight and take a whiff of fresh air. This book has three sections, referred to as Gardens. These are not well-groomed, well-maintained, manicured gardens, but these are wild, overgrown, complex environments that become our private penitentiaries. Children are secretive, adults hide behind façades and the elderly are lost into a hazy realm. Hence this book is organised as Secret Garden, Hidden Garden and Forbidden Garden to focus on issues of different age groups.
