About Author

Shailja Sharma, is a renowned academic and industry expert in tourism and travel management with over 19 years of experience. She holds a BBA in Management, an MBA in Marketing, an MTM Degree and a Ph.D. focusing on tour guiding. As an Assistant Professor at IITTM, Noida, she has educated over 5,000 students. Certified by the World Federation of Tourist Guide Association, London, Dr. Sharma has trained over 3,000 tour guides and designed more than 50 specialized programs. Her notable works include Introduction to Tourism (2021, Sage India), Tour Leadership and Management (2018, SAGE), A Textbook of Travel and Tourism for Class IX (2014, Goyal Brothers Prakashan) and her Ph.D. thesis on tour guiding, published as a book.

Nimit Chowdhary, BE (Mech.), MBA, PhD, is a Professor and Head of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Jamia Millia Islamia with over 31 years of experience. He has held academic positions at institutions such as Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico, Shaoxing University, China, Mizoram University, Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer, and had been associated with Indian Institute of Management, Indore, EDIII, Ahmedabad, University of Gotland, Sweden and University of Girona, Spain. Dr. Chowdhary has authored 23 books, edited 8, published 350+ research papers and trained over 2,500 guides. He has received prestigious awards, including the AICTE Career Award and TV Singh Award for Excellence in Tourism Research.
