‘It is meditation that brings us nearer to truth than anything else.’

A collection of Swami Vivekananda’s clearest, most practical teachings on meditation. More than a guide to technique, this book is a call to inner discipline and direct experience.

Vivekananda explores the philosophical foundations of meditation from Raja-Yoga and Vedanta traditions, urging readers to move beyond rituals toward a transformative practice.

Enduring for its clarity and insistence, the book shows that meditation is not a retreat from life but a deeper engagement with it—a path of strength, self-mastery, and freedom.

About Author

Swami Vivekananda (1863–1902) was a renowned Hindu monk, spiritual leader, and reformer who played a key role in introducing Indian philosophy, particularly Vedanta and Yoga, to the Western world. Born in Calcutta, he was the chief disciple of the mystic Ramakrishna and became widely known after his powerful speech at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893.

Vivekananda emphasized the importance of selfless service, spiritual unity, and social reform, advocating humanitarianism as a core value. He founded the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, which continue to promote education, spirituality, and charitable work. His teachings inspired a revival of Hindu philosophy and nationalism in India.
