Not every race begins with a starting pistol; some begin in unfinished buildings and stalled dreams. Set against the bustling backdrop of Mumbai, Mumbai Marathon follows the intertwined lives of seven women—maids, mothers, misfits—each navigating their own struggles. A beauty queen folds laundry, a psychiatrist hides her past, a maid chases legacy, a widow mourns strangers, a socialite is abandoned by the spotlight, a dabba-maker feeds everyone but herself, and a rich girl yearns to matter. They carry grief like groceries and laugh like survivors, all caught between what was, what is, and what they dare not admit they want next. In this uniquely narrated novel, Aarambhh Singh weaves a rich tapestry of resilience and hope, offering a poignant exploration of identity, ambition, and desire that lingers long after the final page.
