The book provides a compelling exploration of J. Krishnamurti’s teachings alongside the wisdom of the Upanishads. Drawing on Sri M’s extensive knowledge of various religious philosophies—including Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, and Buddhism—it offers a rare and expansive perspective on questions of faith and spiritual inquiry. Sri M’s personal encounters with Krishnamurti and other spiritual thinkers lend authenticity and immediacy to the narrative, resulting in a thought-provoking examination of tradition and transcendence that encourages readers to reflect critically on organized religion and the pursuit of truth.

About Author

Sri M, a spiritual teacher, social reformer, educationist, and author, was born Mumtaz Ali on 6 November 1949 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. His transformative journey from a young boy to a yogi reflects a life of unwavering discipline and dedication. Twenty years ago, he founded the Satsang Foundation as a meeting point for spiritual seekers of all backgrounds. Deeply conversant with the principles of most major religions, Sri M’s teachings aim to transcend the outer forms of religion, focusing instead on their core truths and nurturing the innate goodness in every human being. His autobiography, Apprenticed to a Himalayan Master: A Yogi's Autobiography (2011), became an instant bestseller, followed by Journey Continues: A Sequel to Apprenticed to a Himalayan Master (2017). He has also authored numerous works on the Upanishads, meditation, and a novel, Shunya, with his latest book, On Meditation: Finding Infinite Bliss and Power Within, published by Penguin Random House in 2019. All his books have been translated into several Indian languages. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to spirituality and society, Sri M was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honour, in January 2020.
