And despite its playful appearance, Head First Java is serious stuff: a complete introduction to object-oriented programming and Java. You’ll learn everything from the fundamentals to advanced topics. The new third edition brings the book up-to-date for Java 8-17, including major recent updates to the Java language and development platform. Java has seen some deep code-level changes and more modern approaches, requiring even more careful study and implementation. So learning the Head First way is more important than ever. What’s so special about this book? If you’ve read a Head First book, you know what to expect–a visually rich format designed for the way your brain works. If you haven’t, you’re in for a treat. With this book, you’ll learn Java through a multi-sensory experience that engages your mind rather than a text-heavy approach that puts you to sleep.

All Indian Reprints of O’Reilly are Printed in Grayscale What will you learn from this book? You know you don’t want to reinvent the wheel, so you look to Design Patterns: the lessons learned by those who’ve faced the same software design problems. With Design Patterns, you get to take advantage of the best practices and experience of others so you can spend your time on something more challenging. Something more fun. This book shows you the patterns that matter, when to use them and why, how to apply them to your own designs, and the object-oriented design principles on which they’re based. Join hundreds of thousands of developers who’ve improved their object-oriented design skills through Head First Design Patterns. What’s so special about this book? About Author

Brett McLaughlin :- Brett McLaughlin is a bestselling and award-winning non-fiction author. His books on computer programming, home theaterand analysis and design have sold in excess of 100,000 copies. He has been writing, editingand producing technical books for nearly a decadeand is as comfortable in front of a word processor as he is behind a guitar, chasing his two sons and his daughter around the houseor laughing at reruns of Arrested Development with his wife. Brett spends most of his time these days on cognitive theory, codifying and expanding on the learning principles that shaped the Head First series into a bestselling phenomenon. He's curious about how humans best learn, why Star Wars was so formulaic and still so successfuland is adamant that a good video game is the most effective learning paradigm we have.

Gary Pollice :- Gary Polliceis a self-labeled curmudgeon (that's a crusty, ill- tempered, usually old man) who spent over 35 years in industry trying to figure out what he wanted to be when he grew up. Even though he hasn't grown up yet, he did make the move in 2003 to the hallowed halls of academia where he has been corrupting the minds of the next generation of software developers with radical ideas like, ""develop software for your customer, learn how to work as part of a team, design and code quality and elegance and correctness countsand it's okay to be a nerd as long as you are a great one."" Gary is also a co-author of Head First Object-Oriented Analysis and Design.Gary is a Professor of Practice (meaning he had a real job before becoming a professor) at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He went to WPI because he was so impressed with the WPI graduates that he's worked with over the years. He lives in central Massachusetts with his wife, Vikkiand their two dogs, Aloysius and Ignatius. When not working on geeky things he ... well he's always working on geeky things. You can see what he's up to by visiting his WPI home page at http://web.cs.wpi.edu/~gpollice/. Feel free to drop him a note and complain or cheer about the book..

Dave West :- Dave West would like to describe himself as sheik geek. Unfortunately no one else would describe him in that way. They would say he is a professional Englishman who likes to talk about software development best practices with the passion and energy of an evangelical preacher. Recently Dave has moved to Ivar Jacobson Consulting, where he runs the Americas and can combine his desire to talk about software development and spread the word on rugby and footballand argue that cricket is more exciting than baseball. Before running the Americas for Ivar Jacobson Consulting, Dave worked for a number of years at Rational Software (now a part of IBM). Dave held many positions at Rational and then IBM, including Product Manager for RUP where he introduced the idea of process plug-ins and agility to RUP. Dave still laments the days when he use to sit in a cube and write software in the city of London. This is where he believes he cut his teeth writing big insurance systems with nothing but a green screen and a process flow chart.

Trisha Gee :- Trisha has been working with Java since 1997, when her university was forward-looking enough to adopt this “shiny new” language to teach computer science. Since then, she’s worked as a developer and consultant, creating Java applications in a range of industries including banking, manufacturing, nonprofit, and low-latency financial trading. Trisha is super passionate about sharing all the stuff she learned the hard way during those years as a developer, so she became a Developer Advocate to give her an excuse to write blog posts, speak at conferences, and create videos to pass on some of her knowledge. She spent five years as a Java Developer Advocate at JetBrains, and another two years leading the JetBrains Java Advocacy team. During this time she learned a lot about the kinds of problems real Java developers face.

Eric Freeman :- Eric is described by Head First series co-creator Kathy Sierra as “one of those rare individuals fluent in the language, practice, and culture of multiple domains from hipster hacker, corporate VP, engineer, think tank.” Professionally, Eric recently ended nearly a decade as a media company executive—having held the position of CTO of Disney Online at The Walt Disney Company. Eric is now devoting his time to WickedlySmart, a startup he co-created with Elisabeth Robson. By training, Eric is a computer scientist, having studied with industry luminary David Gelernter during his Ph.D. work at Yale University. His dissertation is credited as the seminal work in alternatives to the desktop metaphor, and also as the first implementation of activity streams, a concept he and Dr. Gelernter developed. In his spare time, Eric is deeply involved with music; you’ll find Eric’s latest project, a collaboration with ambient music pioneer Steve Roach, available on the iPhone app store under the name Immersion Station. Eric lives with his wife and young daughter on Bainbridge Island. His daughter is a frequent vistor to Eric’s studio, where she loves to turn the knobs of his synths and audio effects. Eric’s also passionate about kids education and nutrition, and looking for ways to improve them
